Yearly Tax deduction for govt. employees with student loans

Yearly Tax deduction for govt. employees with student loans

What problem does it solve? It will give an economic advantage to State/Local government employees in New Jersey who have a high amount of student loans, to give them the ability to live a better life, ie, maybe assisting them with living expenses or buying a house. The Federal Government's Public service Loan Forgiveness Program appears to be broken at this time, and our government employees need assistance with paying our student loans. Perhaps in the alternative we could perform work to earn money to pay them back. What is your solution and who does it apply to? Everyone who works in State Government who has student loans. What is the anticipated impact? Government personnel would be appreciative of such an initiative. Similar initiatives are in place in other States, such as Maine.
